DOMO Consulting LLC was created in 2007 to help small lenders develop loan programs for multifamily properties. They worked with organizations such as Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) and other alternative intermediaries to implement growth strategies. These strategies included finding private investors, and recruiting and training new staff.

Douglas Moritz is Principal of DOMO CONSULTING LLC, with offices in Metro Washington (DC) and a satellite office in New York. Doug Moritz has spent his professional life working in the multi-family industry. He opened multi-family lending offices in New York City for the National Coop Bank (1983), the National Bank of Washington (1987), and Washington Mortgage (1991).  In 2000, Doug joined Prudential Financial, Inc. as Managing Director for Multifamily Finance.

DOMO Consulting LLC develops strategies for lenders and property owners that focus on federal and government-assisted housing programs. He has in-depth knowledge of the federal regulations required to run FHA's multi-family and health care insurance programs, helping lenders successfully apply for licensing under FHA and Ginnie Mae multi-family insurance programs. DOMO Consulting is very familiar with the range of sources for capital and their requirements to fund government-assisted housing. Areas of expertise include development and financing applications for affordable rental housing using low-income housing tax credits, agency and FHA financing programs, and tax-exempt bonds, advising public housing authorities on mixed-income mixed-finance developments, leveraging capital funds, and the use of various HUD programs.

DOMO Consulting assists Housing Authorities with applications for HUD’s new Rental Assistance Demonstration Program (RAD), and serves as an advisor to HUD on RAD. DOMO assists in lender due diligence as part of the process for approval under HUD and Ginnie Mae’s Multifamily Programs, and helps lenders with license applications to issue that agency’s Multifamily Mortgage Backed Securities (MFMBS). The firm also conducts training in underwriting in preparation for licensing under these federal government programs.

DOMO Consulting has worked for the States of Louisiana and Mississippi on their recovery programs for the thousands of rental units lost during Hurricane Katrina. They have raised Housing Tax Credit equity from private equity funds, most recently for a partnership of The Communities Group (Washington, D.C.) and the Fayetteville (NC) Housing Authority to develop seniors and family units. Their current client list includes the Municipal Housing Authority for the City of Yonkers (NY); Ramapo Housing Authority (NY); the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority; Bank of America’s Community Development Bank; Churchill Stateside Group; and the Massachusetts Housing Partnership. As consultant to the multifamily industry, under a contract with the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), DOMO Consulting is an Advisor for the MBA’s underwriter certification program for HUD’s multifamily loan insurance programs.
